GRAB-N-GO Window
The library is pleased to announce that the Grab-n-Go window will remain operational. Don’t want to come inside? That’s perfectly okay. Simply knock on the Grab-n-Go window to alert staff of your arrival. It is always our pleasure to serve your library needs!
Cyber security is real, and as keepers of information we are required by law to protect the privacy of our members’ online presence through our applications. Because of this, our website is being rebuilt in-keeping with the new world-wide requirements for security. In the meantime, please note that there are a few glitches. Firstly, the Policies that are shown aren’t necessarily the most current version. A good example of this is the NY HERO Act and our recently updated Bylaws. We expect this glitch to be a thing of the past with the new website, expected to be completed and ready for publishing ASAP.
As you know, the Morristown Public Library is a public library in name only. We are actually what is by law an Association library. Normally this doesn’t mean much, but currently this is an important difference. Being an Association Library means we fall under NYS HERO Act. When the Governor calls a State of Emergency, the HERO Act goes into effect for all private businesses and alas, Association libraries. It means we are mandated by law to uphold the conditions of the Act, to name a pertinent few: 1. Properly worn masks 2. limited occupancy 3. no indoor meetings or programs 4. Health screening for everyone before entry Yes, this means we must revert back to safety conditions as they were a year ago. We apologize for the inconvenience but ask you to be patient. Our community’s safety is, and will always be, inherent within the mission of the Trustees and Staff. As of this morning, all indoor programs are cancelled, including Movie Mondays and Saturday’s craft project.
NEW NEW NEW 10/18/21: The Morristown Public Library Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to accommodate indoor library programs for up to 8 patrons in the Conference Room. All COVID safety precautions will err on the side of safety and prudence as is suitable for institutions chartered by State Education Department. Please watch our calendar as we plan programs and activities for all age groups.
Our outdoor shed is now a bona-fide biblio cave! The Morristown Public Library Board of Trustees will be running a book sale on Saturday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 30th from 10AM to 1PM. All COVID safety protocols will be observed.
As a special treat there MAY be an apple press on site with demonstrations and samples for all attendees. We have everything we need BUT the apples. If you have access to apples please contact the library to let them know or drop them off at your earliest convenience! Thank you so much.
